032: Cishet Cuture is Awkward AF

In the past we may have looked into if the cishets (cisgender hetero folks) were okay, and by the types of memes we found then, well, it wasn't the best light they painted themselves in....

But as we all know, you can't just base your opinion on one single observation so we just had to jump back on to the subreddit r/AreTheStraightsOK looking for even MOAR memes to see if what we said last time was fair.

Only this time, we were met with a lot of cringe, as well as some interesting clothing observations, obsessions with corn dogs, and some questionably quick encounters. So join us for a lot of raised eyebrows, laughs, and nunsense!

I think we can quite clearly say from the memes we have seen...cishet culture is awkward AF!!!

016: The Unspoken Problem in the Queer Community

In honour of the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT), celebrated on the 17th May every year, we're delving into a rarely talked about issue within the queer community: GATEKEEPING.

We often think of Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia as being only external to the queer community, but sometimes members of the LGBTQIA+ family are also known to judge and try to exclude others also based on people's gender, sexuality, presentation, life experiences, and more.

So Sisters Alaska Lott and Babeushka are here to call that sh*t out!

In honour of International Asexuality Day, first celebrated on 6th April 2021, we're delving into the A of LGBTQIA to discover more about the asexuals, aromantics, agender, and abrosexuals of our queer family. We'll be discussing definitions, related terms, flags, and representation in society.

And of course we felt we had to include mention of the crisis currently unfolding in Ukraine.

We're particularly aware of the risk posed to LGBTQ+ people and Putin's so-called 'hitlist' of queer activists. If you need help fleeing state-sponsored violence or wish to help others, we recommend getting in touch with the Rainbow Railroad: https://www.rainbowrailroad.org/
